Jataun Gilbert moved from San Diego to Los Angeles at 21 by way of Massachusetts, where his Cape Verdean roots are. He began full-time acting when he was 23 years old. Since then, he's been in numerous movies, TV shows, commercials, and theatrical plays. He started off in music as a rapper/singer, although acting has taken the forefront.

He's currently on tour with the play The Thorn and has a TV series in which he's the lead, coming out on April 16th on Amazon Prime called Collateral Interest. His dedication to his craft keeps him busy and eager for future projects as he is looking forward to continuing his lead role as Mac in Down for the Count!
